TRAMLINE CLOSURE 2025

Sign up below for a copy of the replacement bus timetable. These buses will service the tram stops that will be closed as part of the Tram Grade Separation Project.

Six weekend closures will occur across the tram network from May to August.

The City to Glenelg tramline will be closed between South Terrace and Glenelg from Monday 4 August 2025 to the return of school in 2026.

This allows fast-tracked construction, and reduces impacts on residents, businesses, road and public transport users.

Work will be done at four locations while the tram line is closed.

  • Forestville Reserve Archways Upgrade

  • Replacement of the Stop 6 bridge over South Road at Black Forest

  • Construction of an overpass and associated road upgrades at Marion and Cross Roads

  • Construction of the Morphett Road overpass.

The tram line will be ready for testing and commissioning in late 2025 with services scheduled to resume late January 2026 in time for the return of school.
